Terms of Service

1. Agreement

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the SafeGuard Backup plugin and the website at safeguard.verdelic.com (collectively, the "Service"), operated by Verdelic ("we," "us," or "our"). By purchasing, installing, or using SafeGuard, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. License Grant

When you purchase a SafeGuard license, we grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the plugin on the number of WordPress sites specified by your plan (Starter: 1 site, Professional: up to 5 sites, Agency: unlimited sites).

  • Each site activation is tied to a single domain. Moving a license to a different domain requires deactivating the old site first.
  • You may not redistribute, sublicense, resell, or share your license key with third parties.
  • The license key is personal to you. Sharing it publicly (e.g., in forums, code repositories) constitutes a violation of these Terms.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the plugin (beyond what is visible as distributed PHP and JavaScript files).
  • Use the plugin to facilitate illegal activity or violate any applicable laws.
  • Attempt to bypass license activation limits through automated tools, spoofed domains, or any other method.
  • Overload our API or license servers with excessive automated requests.

4. Payment Terms

Annual Licenses

Annual licenses are billed once per year and automatically renew at the end of each billing cycle unless you cancel before the renewal date. You will receive a reminder email before each renewal. You can cancel auto-renewal at any time from your account dashboard.

Payment Processing

All payments are processed securely through Dodo Payments, our Merchant of Record. Dodo Payments handles payment processing, tax compliance, and customer billing on our behalf. We do not store your payment card details. Prices are listed in USD.

6. Support

Your license includes access to technical support based on your plan tier (Standard, Priority, or 24/7 VIP). Support covers:

  • Help with plugin installation and configuration
  • Troubleshooting backup and restore issues
  • Guidance on storage provider setup
  • Bug reports and fixes

Support does not cover:

  • General WordPress development, server administration, or third-party plugin conflicts
  • Custom feature development or modifications to the plugin
  • Data recovery from backups not created by SafeGuard

7. Intellectual Property

SafeGuard Backup, including its code, design, documentation, and branding, is the intellectual property of Verdelic. Your license grants you the right to use the software — it does not transfer any ownership rights.

You may not use the SafeGuard name, logo, or branding in any way that implies endorsement or partnership without our written permission.

8. Limitation of Liability

SafeGuard is a backup tool designed to help protect your data, but we cannot guarantee that backups will always succeed or that restores will be error-free. Factors outside our control — including server configuration, hosting provider limitations, file permissions, and database corruption — can affect backup and restore operations.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Verdelic shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or revenue, whether incurred directly or indirectly, arising from your use of SafeGuard.

Our total liability to you for any claim related to the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid for your license in the 12 months preceding the claim.

9. Termination

You may stop using SafeGuard at any time by deactivating and uninstalling the plugin.

We reserve the right to revoke your license and terminate your access to the Service if you:

  • Violate these Terms
  • Share or redistribute your license key
  • Attempt to circumvent license activation limits
  • Use the Service for illegal purposes

If we terminate your license for a breach, you are not entitled to a refund. If we discontinue the product entirely, we will provide at least 90 days notice and offer prorated refunds for active annual licenses.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date above and notify you by email if the changes are significant. Your continued use of SafeGuard after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
